I don’t know about you, but I’ve suffered through a lot of hangovers over the years. I’ve had tequila hangovers, beer hangovers, wine cooler hangovers, jaggermeister hangovers (don’t ask), and in recent years, I’ve had my fair share of wine hangovers.
Of course, when I was younger, a hangover meant nothing more than an excuse to sleep until noon and then scarf down an extra greasy breakfast before plopping myself in front of the TV for the day, but now that I’m a mom and I’m up before the sun most mornings, I don’t have the option of doing any of those things. So I very rarely drink these days, and if I do, I almost never indulge in more than a couple of glasses of white, but on the rare occasion that my husband and I leave the house after dark and someone convinces me to have more alcohol than my sleep-deprived body is comfortable with, I’ve had to find hangover cures that don’t require me to hang my head in toilet all morning.
I’ve tried downing a can of Red Bull or a bottle of Gatorade to help with dehydration the morning after a big night out, and I’ve recently fallen in love with a proactive recovery drink called Resqwater, and while each of these definitely help take the edge off and make me feel like more of a human being when I’m hungover, I prefer to take a more natural approach when I’m feeling under the weather.
